    ROADPRICING

    Austria

Per 1st January 2004, all vehicles with a permissible maximum weight over 3,5 tons are concerned with the Road Pricing on  Austrian highways and expressways. Trucks below the maximum weight of 3,5 tons as well as  passenger cars will be charged with the Vignette  further on. At the moment the Road Pricing rates only depend on the number of axes.

If you would like to have more details and information about the technical  implementation of the Austrian Road Pricing system, please visit the Homepage of ASFINAG.

    Germany

Since 1st January 2005 a distance-based truck toll for all heavy commercial vehicles and vehicles combinations with a permissible total weight of 12 tons or more, has to be paid in Germany. The kickoff ran without any problems. Forecast traffic jams at the toll station terminals didn't occur. On the 7th of November 2008, the Federal Council of Germany agree to an increase of truck toll for heavy commercial vehicles with a permissible total weight of 12 tons or more. For this reason the truck toll rised from 13.5 on average to 16.3 cent/km.

Toll rates depend on the number of axes and the emission class. Detailed information please find on the Homepage of the German operator Toll Collect.
